A few othuvars in the city participated. At 9 am all assembled in the koil. Nalvar urchava murthikal were taken round the temple.
After that every othuvar recited a thevaram in the koil.
Again they all reassembled in the Thiruvasagam Illam at 10 am. They recited panniru thirumurai for nearly two hours. First thirumurai each othuvar chose a pann and the thevaram from that pann was recited.
Then Maheswara poosai was held. Each othuvar as assumed to be Lord Siva and worshiped.
After the lunch, they were gifted with Dhothi, towel and some money.
At the end the donors were also honored.
