Thiruvasaka mutrothal at Thirukovilur thabhovanam

On 10th January Aruthra Darisanam Festival was celeberated at the Karpaga Vinayagar Temple in a
grand manner. It begins with the Cow Pooja at 5.30 A.M and after the recitation of Thirvempavvai,
the procession started at 6.45 A.M and reached temple around 8.15 A.M. A large number of devotees
participated and received the blessings of Lord Nataraja and his consort Sivakami. Some of the

Chenkattangudi chithirai bharani amuthu padayal viza

As every  year this year also  the chithirai bharani  pillaikari padayal viza  was held on 4th may 2019/ A group of 20 devotees of this mandram started in a van at 7 am on 3rd may 2019. The first halt was at Achirupakkam . This temple had a fresh look as the kumbabishekam was held last month only. After the dharsan of  Sri Atcheeswarar , we started to Thiruvathikai. Around 11.30, we had dharshan of Veerateswarar of Thiryuvathikai.

After lunch we proceeded to Thiruvenkadu/. After dharsan  at Venkadu we proceeded to Chengattangudi, with a break at Pallavaneeswaram and chaikadu  ( in dark as the power was not there in the temple). We reached chenkattagudi around 9.30pm.  After rice uppuma and hot idly, we had dharsan of  Ganapatheechuram. The theruvadaichan chaparam came in the night  around 12 . Next day morning we had been to thirupayatrur and thiru virkudi. In the evening  after the dharsan of Uthrapathiswarar we proceeded

Next day we proceeded  to Thirupugalur and then Meeyachur. We returned in the night of 5th may 2019

Tambaram othuvar viza march 2019

The quaterly program of othuvar viza was held today 24th march evening. sivathiru Ramesh othuvar from sivakasi gave  a splendid performance for nearly two hours. His choice of thevaram was appreciated by the audience. His choice of ragas were much appreciated by the carnatic music lovers. Overall the performance was superb.

Othuvar viza 2019

The othuvar viza is normally held in the fourth  sun day of  January. This year it was held in the third sun day today (20-1-2019).
A few othuvars in the city participated. At  9 am all assembled in the koil. Nalvar urchava murthikal were taken round the temple.

After that every othuvar  recited a thevaram in the koil.

Again they all reassembled in the Thiruvasagam Illam at 10 am. They recited  panniru thirumurai for nearly two hours. First thirumurai each othuvar chose a pann and the thevaram  from that pann was recited.

Then Maheswara poosai was held. Each othuvar as assumed to be Lord Siva and worshiped.


After the lunch, they were gifted with  Dhothi, towel and some money.

At the end the donors were also honored.
