The viza started with the othuvars reciting thevaram. Then the 12 Thirumurai was taken round the madaveethi along with the Nalvar urchavars. Then they recited Thevaram in the temple up to 10.30am.
This Thiruneri Madram was formed 15 years back, by people who frequently visit the Karpagavinayagar koil in East Tambaram. The president of this Mandram is Lalkudi C Vedanarayanan. Secretary is P Natarajan (East Tambaram). Treasurer is S Santhalingam (East Tambaram). This mandram arranges Othuvar program every third Sunday. It also arranges tour to varuious temples for the devotees of this temple.

Othuvar viza 2017
The yearly othuvar viza is being held in the month of thai and usually the third or fourth sunday. This year the viza was held on Sunday, 22 January,2017. This the othuvars number increased to 12 from 5 last year. Morning breakfast was served to all . The members gathered in the Karpagavinayagar koil, East Tambaram at 9.30 am.
The viza started with the othuvars reciting thevaram. Then the 12 Thirumurai was taken round the madaveethi along with the Nalvar urchavars. Then they recited Thevaram in the temple up to 10.30am.
Then the function started in Thiruvachagam illam at 11 am. The recital went on up to 1 noon. Then all were served with a nice meals.
The othuvars present were honoured with a nice dhothi and a towel (sponsored by the President Sri Vedanarayanan). They were also given honorariums for their presence.
