Skanthasasti viza in Chemmalai - Chengalput

Skantha sasti is being celebrated from 20the october 2017 to 26th october 2017 in all koils.
On 22stOctober there was abshekam for the Murugar ( urchavar)in chemmalai . Thirumuruga thiruvarut sabhai (Perungalathur) performed the abishekam and poosai.

Perunagar Skanthasasti viza

Skantha sasti is being celebrated from 20the october 2017 to 26th october 2017 in all koils.
On 21stOctober there was abshekam for the Murugar (both moolavar and urchavar) in Perunagar near Kanchipuram.It is a gajapristam koil as seen from figure 2. One of the committee member had the opportunity to be there.

Chithirai barani padayal at chengattangudi27417

One of the committee member had the opportunity to attend the chithirai barani padayal at chengattangudi today morning at 3 am. At 5.30 pm yesterday Uthirapathiyar visits chiruthondar house (Fig 1) and goes back as chiruthonder was not there and the ladies are alone. Chiruthondar goes back and invites Him to his house . He tells the conditions and chiruthondar agrees. The condition is He eats once in 6 months and the meat must be that of a boy  6 year old and no defects in the body. Father and mother should do the preparation.
He comes back at 3 am in the morning ( today). The meat was served and He asks chiruthondar to call his son Cheeralan. When his wife calls the boy just runs back as though returning from the school. He disappears. After some time He is seen as Somaskanthar on rishabam.

108 vinayagar poosai at mylai vanibar mandabam 16417

Today 16-04-2017 a special poojas was conducted   to 108 Lord Ganesha and Sri Sornabhairavar at Vaaniar Dharma Paripalana Mandapam in Mylapore. Many devotees participated in  the pooja and received the blessings of the Deities. A book named "108 Mahadevar Vazhipaadu" was released  on this eventful day. The first issue was received by Shiva Shri. Numbal Ramachandran and Rajamannar Chettiyar.

A one day trip was arranged by the president of the Karpagavinayagar thiruneri mandram to temples in and around maduranthakam and chengaulput.

Visit to Kanchipuram

.

One of the committee member had the opportunity to visit Kanchipuram.
First visit to Kailasanathar temple. Under the control of Archeology dept. When  immersed in the architecture of this Pallava temple. Pallavas first  built temple in the rock by caving the rock, like Mandagapatu, Mamandur thoosi, Vallam and Mahabalipuram . Then they built temples from a single rock by carving the temple, like Pandavar radhams in Mahabalipuram. The ganesh temple in Mahabalipuram. Then they built the temple with seperate stones ,by placing one over the other, like Kailasanathar tmeple, Panaimalai temple, Mahabalipuram seashore temple. The temples visited were Kailasanthar temple, Kachi anekathangavatham,Kachi ekambam, Kumarkottam, Kamakshimamman temple and Onakanthanthali.
